During life we go through many seasons of waiting. We wait to find a spouse, to have a baby, to buy a house, graduate college and many more. Some seasons of waiting are longer than others and it is okay to feel lonely sometimes and to start questioning, why do we have to wait ? God allows us to wait because He wants us to depend on him. He knows what is best for us and He promised that in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. God wants us to trust His love. The waiting season is hard but it will revel who we really are. There is nothing we can do to make the waiting any shorter, and honestly in most situations there is not much we can do besides pray and trust the Lord. As mentioned in the word of God suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, so the waiting season is a season to get ready to receive everything God has prepared for us. It’s a season to humble ourselves and grow in faith. If God give us everything we want when we want as humans we are going to take all the glory. As pastor Steven Furtick mentioned in one of his preachings, Bruce Almighty is a great example of what the world would be like if God said yes to every prayer. The waiting is always longer than we want it to be, but it is a great opportunity to grow in faith, to learn from God and just get ready to be who God wants us to be.
